Father-of-the-bride designs wedding dress
One father-of-the-bride recently did much more than walk his daughter down the aisle he helped make her wedding dress.
Walter Wallace of Inverness designed and sewed his 21-year-old daughter's gown after numerous shopping trips failed to reveal an ideal dress, reports the Daily Record.
The resulting creation was a cream French chiffon Grecian-style dress with drapes falling from the shoulders.
It took Walter just four months and £300 to give his offspring her dream dress.
"Friends had been teasing me that he'd not get it done in time, but I knew Dad would come up with the goods," Katrina told the newspaper. "It was just what I wanted."
Walter also turned his hand to bakery and decorated Katrina and her new husband Richard Wardrop's three-tier wedding cake with a lattice framework, sugar flowers and a winged fairy.
"I'm so grateful. I wanted a one-off dress and thanks to Dad that's what I got," added Katrina.
Meanwhile, one woman recently donated 20 wedding dresses all complete with tags to a cancer Research store in Devon.
