Mrs and Mrs Rooney head off on their honeymoon

Newly-married couple Wayne and Coleen Rooney have headed off on their honeymoon, reports the Daily Mail.

According to the newspaper, the happy pair have left Britain to spend a romantic away in a secret location after tying the knot in Italy on Saturday (June 14th).

The Manchester United and England footballer told OK! magazine, who secured the rights to the wedding for £2.5 million, that he plans to start a family as soon as possible.

"I'd like three or four [children] if we could," he said. "I'm from a big family so I like the idea of that."

However, 22-year-old Coleen seemed slightly less eager, adding: "I'd like a big family but I think until you've had one child you can't really tell how many you would like."

Reported by the Daily Mail, Wayne also claimed that he felt "choked" when he saw Coleen walking down the aisle and that he had a "feeling" he would marry her when they met ten years ago.
