Weddings go wired

Couples planning their big day can now make use of the latest technology with every aspect of their wedding, it has been reported.

Canadian newspaper the Times & Transcript stated that a "wired wedding" event staged by Microsoft last week showed how everything from invitations to music and photography can be customised with gadgets.

PCs and laptops allow brides and grooms to access information about their big day, while online tools and software programmes allow them to personalise place cards, photographs and invitations.

MSN Canada's vice-president Owen Sagness said that the event signified a wide trend of people liking to personalise things.

"They may want their cellphone in pink or they may want to have a black or silver camera … and this is kind of extending the personalisation trend to any kind of an event where they can create their own wedding invitations and make it exactly how they want," he added.

USA Today recently reported that there is a growing trend of sending virtual wedding invitations in the form of Facebook pages, PowerPoint presentations and elaborate emails, reducing paper wastage, the need to hand-address envelopes and RSVP cards.ADNFCR-1185-ID-18666742-ADNFCR
