Dream Dresses with a Story: St Ann’s Hospice at The National Wedding Show Manchester

We at St Ann’s Hospice are delighted to be the charity partner for the return of the National Wedding Show in Manchester, next month.
My name is Fernanda Da Costa, and I am the manager of the St Ann’s Bridal and Vintage shop in Stockport old town.
Our recently renovated Stockport shop has been described as a rare treasure trove.
We specialise in vintage items on the ground floor with a bridal boutique on the second floor.
The shop, located at 33 Great Underbank, has helped hundreds of brides pick their dream wedding dress. The store offers a huge range of brand new and pre-loved gowns as well as a range of shoes, veils and other accessories for the big day.
All of the dresses are high quality, with many still having the original tags on, for a fraction of the price.
Carly Blackwell, a supporter of St Ann’s Hospice from Stockport, knew of the bridal shop in her hometown when she was looking for her dream wedding dress. Carly had a lovely time looking around bridal shops in the area with amazing dresses, but she said they were out of her budget.
“I like that clothes have a story and have been worn before, so I was thrilled to find so many brilliant dresses in the St Ann’s shop,” Carly said.
Carly went on to buy two dresses for her wedding, both from our Stockport shop. One for the legal ceremony, that was a more formal daytime dress, and the other for the wedding party, a beaded evening dress.
Jo Johnson also purchased her wedding dress from our shop. She wanted to pay tribute to her mum who was cared for by St Ann’s Hospice until she died.
It was Jo’s way of having her mum be a part of her day.
“[Visiting the shop] was a wonderful experience and it really helped me with the process and of course the decision,” Jo said.
The National Wedding Show will take place in Manchester on October 25 and 26, and we’re excited to be in attendance.
