TNWS SS16 Wedding Trend Guide
The National Wedding Shows are set to kick off for Spring 2016 next weekend. With spring/summer wedding plans in full force, there's a frisson of summer loving in the air. As much as we love Winter, it's time for something a little fresh, fun and flirty in our lives.
Enter TNWS SS16's Wedding trends...bigger, better and more beautiful than ever before.
Celebrity Stylist & Wedding Theatre Expert Claire Ginzler's top style trends to watch
" Necklines: A key trend for the season is necklines, ranging from the plummeting to the more subtle!
Shoulders: Bare those shoulders, because this season it's all about shrugging off your sleeves.
Legs: Show off those pins with a short skirted dresses. If you are looking for traditional long dress then a dress with a thigh high split or a short dress with long chiffon layers over it will nod to this trend.
Baby got back: At least, these wedding dresses do! Showing off the back with lots of embellishment or chiffon will create an instant romantic look.
The 2 piece: Build your own look by mixing and matching bridal separates. Separates eg a high waisted skirt with a top are definitely about. Or try a dress with a matching sheer jacket
Built in Lingerie: Lingerie is now being incorporated into dresses, because remember its what underneath that counts! A trend which has made its way over via the red carpet to create body contouring corsets and topping ball gowns!
Make it pop: 3-d embellishment such as feathers or floral appliqué are still hot this season...so don't be shy and go all out!"
Charles Worthington Stylist & Wedding Theatre Expert Cinta Miller's top hair trends to watch
"Tousled loose looks are seriously big this season with loose waves and lots of natural texture.
Another trend we have noticed is colour, which is on the rise with brides wanting more sun kissed glows and tones running through rather than a mono-shade.
When it comes to to the theme.. brides are starting to want to look like themselves and go with their own identity as opposed to conform to being a traditional bride. The Rock N Roll Bride blog is great example of this, a blog for brides wanting something a little more alternative. The editor Kat Williams will actually be joining all 3 shows at The National Wedding Show for Spring 2016 with the Rock N Roll Bride Collection which I am super excited for!
Beachy looks and a softer natural approach is also more common than the glamour of the usual bling. Hair extensions (like Racoon International) are big this year to help achieve this look. They can instantly add volume whilst keeping the natural bride look."
TNWS Catwalk producer Fran Lee from Production Element comments on What we can expect to see on the Catwalk
"SS16 is all about the individual with trends tapping into a brides need to express her personality. I am seeing elegant deep-v back figure hugging silk crepe gowns with no embellishment versus huge ball gown tulle skirts paired with heavily embellished bodices and everything else in between. This season diversity is certainly key. I am SO excited to show you what the exhibitors have in store for the catwalk this Spring at The National Wedding Show"
