When it comes to looking beautiful on the big day, there are a few products no bride should be without.
In a sneak preview of the latest issue’s 20-page beauty special, National Wedding Show Partners Wedding Venues & Services beauty editor, Vic Black, reveals her top 10 make-up must-haves…
1. The concealer
Luxe Illuminating Concealer Wand, £10, Avon
Imperfections are blurred and pores disappear with one swipe of this magic wand. You’ll be pleased you gave your skin the HD treatment for those close-ups.
2: The corrector
Colour Corrector Stick in Revitaliser and Reducer, £8.99, Max Factor
Max Factor has one of these chubby sticks for every concern. The pale green Reducer will see of any redness around the nose and chin, while the lilac Revitaliser will knock out dullness and create the perfect base for foundation.
3. The foundation
Vitalumière, £36, Chanel
New foundations may come and go but this light, fluid formula remains. It’s moisturising without being too heavy and gives the kind of dewy finish any bride would want on her big day.
4. The mattifyer
Blotting Paper, £4, DHC
If you’re looking shiny across your T-zone on your wedding day, a little powder can usually help. But too many applications and you’ll start to get chalky product build up. Instantly mattify with these cute blotting papers instead.
5: The blusher
Pure Luxe Multi-Blusher in Soft Coral, £12.50, Marks & Spencer
You can choose more or less colour, depending on where you swirl the brush, with this marble-effect blusher. The soft sheer texture also makes for great blending across cheeks and, as for that rose pattern, it’s one to show off to your bridesmaids!
6: The face highlighter
Highlighter Watercolour Fluid Blusher in Icing, £15.50, Daniel Sandler
This pretty pink shimmering colour is designed to use across the tops of cheekbones, on eyelids and brow bones to bring your features alive. It’s oil-free so won’t clog pores and is virtually waterproof, so what you apply in the morning will still be there at the end of the day.
7. The eyebrow palette
Eyebrow Palette Brow Artiste genius kit, £9.99, L’Oreal Paris
Tame your brows into shape with the tinted wax and then add a little more definition with the soft powder. The tweezers are also handy for dispatching any stray hairs – perfect.
8: The eye shadow
Organic Glam Nude Sparkle Palette, £49, The Organic Pharmacy
We’re loving the subtle shades in this little compact. And if you’re going barely there during the day, it’s just the thing to add a little more glamour and a hint of sparkle during your reception party.
9: The mascara
Mascara Singulier Waterproof, £24.50, Yves Saint Laurent
Glamorous, bold length with a bit of curl and separation, this wonder brush combines the technology of a traditional brush with the structure of a moulded one for a couture look.
10: The lipstick
RMK Irresistible Bright Lips, £19
And, to finish, who says brides can’t rock a classic red lip? If your pout is your pièce de résistance, make RMK Irresistible Bright Lips in 08 your lipstick of choice. Vibrant colour, all wrapped up in a super-moisturising formula creates slick coverage with staying power.
