There’s no doubt that every bride would want to look the absolute best version of herself on her wedding day. We know from our experience in bridal wear design that achieving this look is very much tied to choosing the right wedding dress.
At Estilo Moda Bridal we understand that making the right decision can be quite daunting; hence we constant work on how best to assist our brides to help ease the pressure off them as much as possible.
This week we have put together various wedding dress silhouettes to get you familiar with the different silhouette types and what they look like on different shaped women. Enjoy!
A-line (Princess) Silhouette: An A-line skirt is a skirt that is fitted at the hips and gradually widens towards the hem, giving the impression of the shape of a capital letter A. It can add graceful curves to a straight figure. It can help draw the eye away from a wide waistline. It can even hide any lower-body imperfections.
Ball gown: It is traditionally a full-skirted gown reaching the floor. This type of wedding dress will suit a bride who loves the dramatic fairy tale look. It makes you envision the typical Disney princesses such as Cinderella who indeed attended beautiful balls.
Column (Sheath): In fashion, a column, similar to a sheath dress, is a type of dress designed to tightly fit the body. It is often made of a very light and thin material like cotton or silk, and rarely contains any flourishes.
Mermaid: Want to frame your hour glass curves? This silhouette would do the job well. The mermaid Wedding dress is close fitting through the bodice to the knees and has a skirt that dramatically flares out down to the hem to give it its “mermaid” form. It highlights every curve and is not advised for apples and plus size body types.
Trumpet: sometimes called the fit and flare silhouette- another Silhouette that flaunts your sexy, hourglass curves. Fitted through the body and flares mid-thigh, a bit more understated than a mermaid-style gown.
