Picture Perfect
Violette kraemer
We’ve all seen amazing photos gracing the pages of magazines and of course that is what we all want. So here are some tips from Jeff Oliver Photography on how you can achieve the perfect wedding photos.
THE PREP
Choosing a great photographer is an obvious start. It’s important to really like their work, but also to like the photographer too as they will be with you all day on your wedding day!
It can be a good idea to have a pre-wedding shoot, this will really help you get used to being in front of the camera and therefore you will be much more relaxed in your photos. It’s great to practice poses and see what works for you and just as important, what doesn’t work.
THE PERFECT PICTURE
Now that everything has come together, you have a stunning venue, a great photographer and have practiced your posing, its time for the perfect picture.
What makes amazing photos is great light. Photographers call the hour before sunset the golden hour, it’s when the light is softer and more flattering. So leave some time on your wedding day for photos later in the day to make the most of the best light.
When it comes to posing there are a few little rules that can make the difference between a good photo and a great photo. We say “If it bends, then bend it,” all that means is bend your leg instead of standing up straight, bend your elbow to create a bit of space between your body and arm. Bend your head slight to one side. All of this makes for a more dynamic pose (just like the models in the magazines).
Then all you have to do is enjoy yourself with the person you have just married. Capturing the chemistry between you is what will make the prefect picture.
