Tips for Choosing a Band

Firstly, congratulations on your upcoming wedding. This is truly an exciting time so don’t forget to stop and enjoy the moment. When it comes to entertainment there are so many factors to consider so here are All The Feels Collective’s top tips for picking the best entertainment for your big day!

Make sure that the band are professionals and music is there full time job pro-musicians know how to work the room and bring the best out of each other as well as their audience, they put their set together with such detail so the dance floor is full for the whole evening whilst taking you on a musical journey.

When it comes to picking your entertainment make sure the band and DJ play the music you like, this sounds so simple but you can easily get it wrong. There is no point booking a jazz band if you really want to let loose, kick off your heels and dance the night away. Think of your guests and who is most likely to be filling the floor for the evening.

Look at reviews if you know of bands or singers that perform at the local pub and then those who perform at larger venues. Bands and singers who tend to perform at weddings and corporate events will have a big difference in quality and this can have a big impact on how the entertainment goes down on the day.

Presentation is really important; you and all your guests will have made a massive effort to look incredible so you don’t want your entertainment turning up in a creased ill-fitting outfit. The performers should look tailored groomed and like a group.

Try and develop a good relationship with your band; chat to them about your expectations or concerns for the day. If you have any questions don’t be afraid to ask, I know from my experience with All The Feels we are happy to accommodate most things and a small conversation can get rid of all the stress and pressure you might be feeling. Professional wedding performers do this all the time so are there to help.

Look after your the band on the day; offer them a room to relax in before the show and maybe even some food. It just puts everyone in a great mood and the band can prepare and change for the performance.

Think about your budget and how much you want to spend. In my experience the entertainment and the fun the guests have in the evening is the thing people will remember from your day so spend your money wisely.

And the most important thing of all go with entertainment is go with who you trust. This is your day to shine and be loved by everyone in the room so enjoy it!
