This year #TNWS were proud to introduce a brand new feature to Birmingham and London The New Talents Area. The new feature dedicated to breakthrough talent included the incredible cake designer Penny the Bee who only launched her business in June this year! Here’s what she thought of her first show experience.
“It was my first time at The National Wedding Show in London last September and I must say I was completely blown away by the amazing organization and very friendly atmosphere. I was assigned a stand in the New Talents Area. I started my sugar art & cake design business only last June and as it was my first time at the Show I had no idea of what to expect and what kind of decorative style to use to attract the attention of visitors. The work preparing the stand was very challenging, from the decoration of the panels to the setting up of tables, all done with a meticulous attention to details. The weekend at the Show was very busy; I was very pleased with all the people who stopped by, asking questions about my cakes and how they are made.
I truly had a great time and I am grateful to have met so many lovely people. The staff were always there to help and they were all very supportive. I never felt left alone in this to me new environment. Visitors seemed very enthusiastic about my bespoke unique creations, many asked questions and wanted to know about the design process, starting from just an idea to the actual realization of the cake.
I also had a great opportunity to meet several wedding and event planners who were interested in my products and with whom I am now in contact to hopefully develop further collaboration. The National Wedding Show was truly a great experience, it helped me to understand the wedding industry better, to increase awareness of my brand and it gave me the chance to show my creations and explain the effort involved.
I am really happy to have participated in the Show and I am sure I will be at The National Wedding Show again soon with new ideas and designs.”
