Trusting your cake designer is key
- Once you have found your cake designer, you will need to arrange a cake tasting (which is the fun part) don’t feel limited as to what you bring to your consultation it can be anything from fabric swatches, photos, jewellery or even something special to you both and before you know it, your dream cake will begin and the finished design will be entirely unique to your wedding.
It is really important that you trust your cake designer and be clear with your budget, if you’re on a tight budget think about having an oversized sugar flower rather than piped lace or flower cascades or a smaller cake.
Numbers matter
For portion control, the number you need to serve is more important than the number of tiers, If your numbers are on the low side you could make it up with dummy tiers but bear in mind they are not free .
A wedding cake is not your only option!
