Wedding Photography AdviceMarch 17, 2022 Wedding Articles
Chris Denner has been a photographer for over 23 years and wants to give you all the tips and hacks you need to absolutely nail your wedding photography portraits. Now most people do get very nervous when it comes to posing for their wedding portraits. However, the biggest and main exception to that is for their bridal portraits, which is just the couple’s alone time, these are photos and images that reflect the depth and feeling of their relationship. These are very, very important, and it’s also very easy to get wrong. Chris is here to try and give you some advice how to avoid that. Rule number one is pay attention to your body posture, shoulders back, hips elevated, head up, hands touching something. Let’s talk about hands for a second here. Hands are very, very important. People say eyes are the window to the soul. But hands really convey emotion. Rest your hands on your partner, neck, and side. All of these things should feel natural. What you don’t want to be doing is having your hands dangling down by the side looking awkward. After all, you’ve just been married you’re not a 14 year old at a school disco scared and don’t know what to do of yourself. The other important thing is have a great relationship with your photographer. Your photographer should be able to direct you to the best spots of light, the best composition. Trust in them and relax. Last piece of advice is for you is just be yourselves. Just relax and breathe. Have fun with it, if your a couple that likes to laugh, have some fun portraits. If you’re a bit more serious and laid back couple then your portrait should also reflect us. Don’t be led down an avenue of overly posed cliched work, because it won’t be timeless. It won’t be authentic and you won’t enjoy it!
